Xioami who’s having great run since their first step in India with there ‘high quality low price’ products they have shakenup the market but the company is banned for importing, manufacturing and selling there products in india. The Delhi high court granted an ex parte injunction order against Xioami for allegedly infringing on Ericsson’s Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) on December 8. The decision was taken after Ericsson reports that Xioami has not responded to their previous attempt on the same issue since July. Xioami official India Manu Jain stated that the company has not received any official confirmation regarding the Ban and there legal team is looking at the issue and will reply promptly on that, he also mentioned that the Indian market is very important for Xioami and they do not want to lose such a big market. On 11th December three days after the Ban Xioami’s official website in India was redirecting to a letter from Xioami VP Hugo Barra
On December 17 the ban was lifted by the Delhi high court from Xioami but the company is only allowed to sell their Qualcomm Soc based devices which was further confirmed by ‘Hugo’ in the same way by posting a letter on Facebook and twitter (below)

Since the ban was partly lifted for Xioami the company cannot sell their mediatek phones in India which effected the sales of company’s recent launch Redmi note’s 3G version which cost Rs8999 through their online partner Flipkart and due to the ban flipkart was also not allowed to sell Xioami products on their website and only conducted 2 flash sales. The ban was only lifted for xioami to sell there devices upto first quarter of January 2015 and further decision will be taken after that, it will be intresting to see what will happen to a 5month old company. Will they be allowed to continue their dominance? or they have to pack their bags and return to back to Beijing?
